Water Safety and First Aid for new parents
Look out for our Southern Start! program in early 2020. This will be our unique way of giving back to the community and helping parents with new born bubs.
It is planned as a short four-week program for mothers/parents groups (including dads!) who want somewhere to meet the week after their final clinic session, and who want some education around first aid and water safety.
We plan to host a different information session each week, with each session focusing on different aspects of first aid and water safety. Each session would run for about an hour with your new born bubs welcome.
We aim to combine training from experienced external first aid trainers, with water safety sessions run by Southern Swim School’s lead educator Leanne Oakley. With two toddlers of her own she understands how important safety and education is in the early stages of caring for kids.
From time to time we will also have sessions with local nurses, paramedics and lifesavers.
Stay tuned for more information. Our first focus is to get our swim school fully up and running, but we will be looking to launch these programs in early 2020. We welcome interest from parents groups, and those who help co-ordinate them.
